Electric motors account for nearly 70 percent of all power use. In fact, the cost of electricity used by an electric motor in one year can be as much as 10 times the motor’s initial purchase price, so improvements in electric motor-driven systems can produce significant savings in electricity costs.
MotorMaster+ International includes many of the capabilities and features of MotorMaster+. However, now you can evaluate repair/replacement options on a broader range of motors.
Motors tested under the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) standard, and those tested using International Electrical Commission (IEC) methodology can also be included.
With this tool you can conduct analyses in different currencies, calculate efficiency benefits for utility rate schedules with demand charges, edit and modify motor rewind efficiency loss defaults and determine "best available" motors. The tool can be modified to operate in English, Spanish or French.
As a Department of Energy (DOE) partner, Ameren provides information to the free MotorMaster+ International energy–efficient software at the Department of Energy’s Web site.
