Residential customers participating in Pure Power will pay a little extra on their bill each month―1.5 cents per kilowatthour (kWh)―to support the development of renewable energy sources in the Midwest. Medium and large business customers participating in Pure Power will indicate how many “blocks” they wish to purchase―$15.00 per each 1,000 kilowatthour (kWh) block―for electricity from renewable sources that will be added to the Midwest energy pool. Pure Power funds are used to purchase Green-e Certified® renewable energy certificates (RECs) from regional wind energy and other renewable generation facilities. More about certification.
