Glenn (Skip) Smallwood is a business development executive in Ameren Corporation’s Economic Development Department.
As a business development executive, Skip implements Ameren’s business development activities that include industry strategies and state/community ally support. A 25-year veteran of the utility industry, Skip has held several positions in customer service and industrial marketing.
Skip holds a Master of Business Administration and Master of Arts in Business from Webster University. Currently he is working on a Master of Science in Engineering and Technology Management from Oklahoma State University. He is a Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) with the International Economic Development Council and earned the Economic Development Finance Professional (EDFP) from the National Development Council. He has earned the Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Certified Demand-Side Management Professional (CDSM), and Certified Business Energy Professional (BEP) designations from the Association of Energy Engineers. He has earned the Certified Manufacturing Technologist (CMfgT) designation from the Society of Manufacturing Engineers. In addition, he has earned the Certified Manager (CM) designation from the Institute of Certified Professional Managers
Skip holds memberships in the Association of Energy Engineers; Institute of Industrial Engineers; Society of Manufacturing Engineers and the Southern Economic Development Council (SEDC). He has held leadership roles in local and state economic development organizations and serves on numerous civic and community boards/foundations.
