The Ameren Community Development Corporation (AmerenCDC) presented a $150,000 grant on Jan. 31 to Soft Surroundings to help fund renovations at the company’s new national distribution facility in Mexico, Mo.

Soft Surroundings is primarily a direct marketing catalog company specializing in women’s casual apparel, luxury bedding and home items, and state of the art skincare. The company has been operating in Mexico since 2002. With a current work force of 80, expansion into the new facility is expected to add more than 30 new jobs through 2008.
