Major cities served include Belleville, Bloomington-Normal (electric only), Champaign-Urbana, Decatur, East St. Louis, Galesburg, Granite City, Peoria, and Springfield (gas only).
The Ameren Illinois Utilities do not own any power plants. Instead, they buy power through long-term contracts and deliver it to their customers. Costs for this power are passed on to customers dollar-for-dollar.
